From 17 November 2009, there will be new legislation that aims to improve protection for people buying and selling residential or commercial property.

There will be new requirements that will ensure the professionalism of the persons engaged in real estate agency work including real estate agents; branch managers; salespersons; and persons (such as business brokers) carrying out the sale and purchase of businesses on behalf of others.

The Real Estate Agents Act 2008 is designed to be fair for all.
