How do I apply?
If you are applying for civil/or family legal aid, start by contacting a lawyer who you would like to represent you. You must first check that this lawyer does legal aid work.
Some lawyers answer questions about legal aid for free but you should always check this with them first.
Your lawyer will fill in the parts of the application form about your case and about why legal aid should be granted. They will also submit your legal aid application to the local Legal Aid office on your behalf.
