How to Apply

How to apply for compensation from the Criminal Justice Assistance Reimbursement Scheme.

The first step in applying for compensation from the Criminal Justice Assistance Reimbursement Scheme is to find out if you're eligible. Eligibility criteria are outlined in 'A Guide to Filing a Claim' (PDF, 225Kb)

If you are eligible, download the claim form and post it to the address below.

You can pick up a paper copy of the guide and claim form at your local police station. Or contact us and we will post them out to you.

What to send with your application

You must also provide evidence to support your claim, including things like supporting statements from the police, proof of the existence of the property being claimed for, its current value and the circumstances of how it was lost or damaged.

If it is relevant, you may also include letters of support from any social services agencies you have been involved with, such as Victim Support.
