Fees
There is a $400 fee to lodge an appeal with the Customs Appeal Authority.
There is a $408.89 fee to lodge an appeal with the Customs Appeal Authority. You may apply for a waiver of this fee, within the time allowed for your appeal, if:
- you have been granted legal aid, or
- you have not been granted legal aid but are dependent for the payment of your living expenses on any of the following:
- unemployment benefit
- sickness benefit
- domestic purposes benefit
- emergency benefit
- independent youth benefit
- invalid's benefit
- widow's benefit
- veteran's pension
- wholly dependent on a New Zealand superannuation.
To apply for a fee waiver, complete the Application for Waiver of Fees form and send it to the Registrar of the Appeal Authority.
