The Licensing Authority of Secondhand Dealers and Pawnbrokers is an independent judicial body established under the Secondhand Dealers and Pawnbrokers Act 2004.
The Licensing Authority of Secondhand Dealers and Pawnbrokers was established under the Secondhand Dealers and Pawnbrokers Act 2004. The Act covers the licensing and obligations of secondhand dealers and pawnbrokers.
The LASDP is a judicial office with three-yearly appointments that can be renewed. The Minister of Justice and the Minister of Courts are jointly responsible for appointments to the Authority.
The Ministry of Justice's Tribunals Unit in Wellington provides the Licensing Authority with the administrative support it needs to exercise its powers and functions.
