Victims' Claims Trust Account - End of Process Notice

Notice of End of Process for Making and Determining Victims’ Claims

 

TAKE NOTICE that, pursuant to part 2, (subpart2) of the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (“the Act”), compensation awarded to Jamie Robert Cooke was paid to the Secretary for Justice on 5 August 2011, and the surplus, was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on 16 September 2011 on behalf of Jamie Robert Cooke to enable any victims of that offender to make claims against it.

 AND THAT on 24 September 2011, notice was given by publication in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin and on 20 September 2011 on the website of the Ministry of Justice, of the sum of money paid into the Trust Account, and the entitlement of Victims of the offender to claim against this money and the manner to do so.

 UNDER section 32(1)(b) of the Act, the Secretary for Justice has now paid out all of the  money held in the Trust Account on behalf of Jamie Robert Cooke.
